Kottayam: Youth Front (M) state president Saji Manjakadambil has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the murder of K.A. Nazeer, CPM local leader of Erattupetta, by CPM activists some time ago. Nazeer had alleged that Poonjar MLA P.C. George had purchased the votes of other parties, including CPM, in the Assembly elections. He had also forwarded to the party leadership a complaint that a section of the party leaders at Erattupetta had worked for the victory of Mr George.
Nazeer, who was the Pathazhapady branch secretary of the CPM, was attacked allegedly by a six-member group of CPM activists on July 25 at Erattupetta town. He died on August 5 while undergoing treatment at the Kottayam MCH. Mr Saji told reporters here on Friday that the investigation should be held against Mr George as well as those who took money from him for voting in his favour.
