Harish: KCR fulfilled ignored promises of Indira Gandhi

HYDERABAD: T. Harish Rao, the health minister, stated that the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi promised to create Medak a district, but it was in vain. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao stated that both district status and train service to Medak had been achieved.

On Wednesday, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the District Integrated Offices Complex and the District Superintendent of Police Office in Medak. Harish Rao told the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha that Medak district has a medical college and check dams on the rivers Manjeera and Haldivagu.

According to him, development occurred as a result of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's fight for a separate Telangana state.

The opposition Congress and BJP leaders are busy smearing the BRS government, but the CM is working hard to make Telangana the best in the country, he said. After the creation of Telangana state, cultivable land in Medak district expanded from 1.17 lakh acres to 4 lakh acres, he explained.

Ministers Mahamood Ali and V. Prashanth Reddy were present, as were MLAs Padma Devender Reddy and Sunita Laxmi Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar, and others.

Meanwhile, BRS leaders from the whole Medak district attended the public meeting. People from Medak, Sangareddy, and Siddipet districts were mobilised for the meeting.

Police made significant security precautions in anticipation of the Chief Minister's visit to Medak. Priests from Hindu, Muslim, and Christian faiths led prayers at the inauguration of collector and SP offices.
