Get women quota bill passed, Kavita tells Kishan and Revanth

KCR contesting from two seats is part of larger plan, says MLC

Hyderabad: Ruling party MLC K. Kavitha demanded the BJP and the Congress party to work on passing the women’s reservation bill in Parliament in the ensuing winter session.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday Kavitha slammed Union minister and state BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy and TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy for their remarks of ‘poor’ allotment of tickets to women in the BRS first list for the ensuing Assembly elections. She urged them to fight for the women’s reservation bill in Parliament. She lamented that Narendra Modi’s cabinet never had more than two women.

"I will stage a protest in Delhi to put pressure on the Centre after the Assembly elections in Telangana," she said.

She predicted that the BRS would come to power for a third consecutive term in the state as people have started avoiding BJP and Congress leaders.

On Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to contest from both Gajwel and Kamareddy, Kavitha said that this was part of a larger plan of the BRS chief and the opposition parties have no inkling about it.

Reacting to Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao's remarks on finance minister T. Harish Rao, she said that if any BRS leader violates party guidelines, the leadership would take action.
