CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to hold crucial meet today
Hyderabad: The TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will get party leaders and cadre ready for upcoming general elections at the meeting of party's state committee convened at Telangana Bhavan on Friday. All TRS MLAs and MPs have been invited for the meeting.
The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of speculations over Mr Rao's reported plans to dissolve the state Assembly and to go for early polls in December along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan etc, instead of the original schedule of April/May 2019.
The meeting assumed even more significance with Mr Rao taking a sudden decision to rush to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon after the state committee meeting is over.
TRS party sources expect Mr Rao to give clarity on whether he intends to go for early polls or not in the meeting. Mr Rao had already announced that the party will declare Assembly candidates for ensuing elections in September itself.
The party has also decided to hold a huge public rally on city outskirts on September 2 by mobilising 25 lakh people from all the 31 districts and release progress card of TRS government’s four-year rule.
