Adilabad MP invites Modi to attend Komaram Bheem’s death anniversary event

The invite was issued during a meeting of BJP leaders with the PM for submitting a memorandum on problems faced by Adilabad people

ADILABAD: Adilabad BJP MP Soyam Bapu Rao on Friday invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the 82nd death anniversary observance of Adivasi leader Komaram Bheem at Jodeghat on October 10.

The invite was issued during a meeting of BJP leaders with the PM for submitting a memorandum on problems faced by the people of Adilabad constituency. Modi and Union minister Amit Shah have previously hailed the tribal leader.

While Modi referenced Bheem during his speech at the Parade Ground in Hyderabad following the national executive meeting earlier this month, Shah paid rich tributes to tribal leaders Ramji Gond and Komaram Bheem during a visit to Nirmal district on September 17, 2021.

The memorial will be held at Jodeghat in Kerameri mandal of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district. The leader died fighting the Nizam’s forces for land, water and forest rights.

Besides the invite, Rao also requested the Prime Minister to release funds for the all-round development of Adilabad and to sanction an airport and a mega textile park for the district. Representing the problems of tribals, he asked Modi to also take steps to resolve the podu land issue in Telangana.
