No political significance to KTR's Delhi visit, says Bandi Sanjay

HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday said there was no political significance to state minister K.T. Rama Rao’s visit to New Delhi to meet with some Union ministers, but also cautioned that one should not fall for the distortion of the accounts of the meetings that will be put out by the BRS and its leaders.

Sanjay said, “unlike KCR who does not meet anyone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government believes that anyone who wants to discuss development of their states can meet with them.”

The Prime Minister, Sanjay said, had always maintained that politics should never come in the way of government and governance. Irrespective of from which state the leaders go to Delhi, or what their political affiliations are, Central ministers meet with them, he said.

“Do not give any political colour to KTR’s meetings with Union ministers in Delhi. What happens in the meetings and what might be talked about outside could be very different. There will be attempts made to do this, there will be talk of conspiracies. Any such talk will be nothing more than attempts by KCR to fool and sidetrack people,” Sanjay said.

“For instance, Uttam Kumar Reddy met the Prime Minister some 10 times, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has met with him several times. Not every meeting of state leaders with Central ministers is about politics," Sanjay said.

Sanjay said the BRS and the Chief Minister keep asking what the Centre has done for the state’s development. “The BJP is ready to debate on this, and we will also debate on issues such as land grab in Kokapet, and several other problems facing people in the state. This Chief Minister talks about welfare, BCs, only when elections are around,” he added.

The BJP state president also questioned the just concluded ‘Dashabdi Utsavalu’ by the government of the state’s formation saying this made no sense as Telangana has completed only nine years and not ten.
