Karur: Congress Lok Sabha member from Karur Ms. Jothimani has charged that the Karur district collector T. Anbazhagan had ‘blocked’ her mobile number, which has put her to lot of hardship and was not able to take up people’s issues like the present water crisis directly with the collector for remedy.
Ms Jothimani, who along with the Aravakurichi DMK MLA and Karur district DMK party's secretary Senthil Balaji met people of various villages under the Aravakurichi assembly segment and received petitions from them on Saturday, told newsmen that there was acute water problem across the district and efforts were being made to mitigate the crisis through MP and MLAs local area development fund.
Ms Jothimani said she was chairing the monitoring committee on development works in Karur district, but neither Senthil Balaji nor she were invited by the collector to discuss drinking water supply schemes today.
When this correspondent contacted Mr. Anbazaghan over the phone, he denied allegations made by the Congress MP, saying he never blocked anybody’s mobile number.
He further said Mr. Senthil Balaji has in fact been speaking to him.
