KCR mortgaged Warangal Central Jail land for Rs 1.150 crore, alleges Congress leader

WARANGAL: Senior Congress leader Bakka Judson made some sensational comments against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday. He said KCR mortgaged the Warangal Central Jail land to the Bank of Maharashtra and took around Rs 1,150 crore as a loan in the name of a fictitious organisation.

Judson made the allegation at a media conference he held here on Tuesday.

“By demolishing the Warangal central jail, the chief minister is going to construct a 25-storey multi-super speciality hospital there. Without taking the people into confidence, he mortgaged the prime land on September 9, 2022, in the name of one Dr Ramesh, ‘managing director of the Telangana super speciality hospitals corporation Ltd’ – something that does not exist at all,” he said.

The mortgaging was done in the Pune branch of Bank of Maharashtra, situated in Kamangal in Shivajinagar, Maharashtra state, he said and added that the CM took Rs 1,150 crore as a loan on this count.

“KCR is mortgaging the historic Warangal Central jail to construct a super speciality hospital. This is with an eye on commissions and loot of public money.

He is doing this even as he is not providing basic facilities to patients in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) hospital (Gandhi Hospital), where the rodents are biting the patients and killing them, Judson said.

He said he has with him all the documents of the loan, by way of proof, which he got after facing a lot of hardships.

“I wanted to explain to the people about how the state government and the chief minister along with the BRS party leaders are deceiving the people and gathering money either by selling or mortgaging the valuable government lands and properties that belonged to the people of Telangana,” he said.

He challenged the chief minister, panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao and government chief whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar who represents Hanamkonda (Warangal West) assembly constituency to respond to his statement or prove him wrong.
