N Chandrababu Naidu to attend Mahanadu of the party's state chapter

The AP CM wants to strengthen Telugu Desam in Telangana to face next elections and is expecting hung assembly in next elections.

Hyderabad: TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu will attend the Mahanadu of the Telangana state unit of the party at Exhibition Ground here on Thursday, and attempt to strengthen the party to face the elections.

Mr Naidu is expecting that the Assembly will be hung, and is of the opinion that if the TS TD gets 15 to 20 Assembly seats, it will become a key player in the formation of the next government.

While Mr Naidu wants to strengthen the party, some senior leaders like former minister M. Narasimhulu are not happy with the functioning of the Telangana state TD.

Sources close to Mr Narasimhulu said that he had decided not to attend the mahanadu. Mr Narasimhulu has been keeping himself away from party activities for long time. He has decided to attend the Mahanadu only on the invitation of Mr Naidu.

At the Mahanadu, Telangana TD leaders expect to propose about eight resolutions. The party will discuss the failure of the TRS government and an agitation to fight on people’s issues. About 10,000 delegates are expected to attend the Mahanadu.

The main Mahanadu will be held for three days from May 27 to 29 at the AP capital, Amaravati.
