Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkata Reddy wants security cover restored
Hyderabad: Expelled Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Wednesday thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for recognising him as an MLA, and asked why his protocol and security were not restored.
Mr Rao had sent Mr Venkata Reddy greetings on his birthday on Wednesday. The letter addressed Mr Venkata Reddy as the Nalgonda MLA.
On receiving the greetings, Mr Venkata Reddy asked Mr Rao why his protocol and security had not been restored even when he was recognised as an MLA.
Mr Venkata Reddy, along with another Congress MLA Sampath Kumar, were expelled from the TS Assembly. They challenged the decision in the High Court, which restored their membership and directed the state government to restore all their privileges.
Following this, TRS MLAs have filed an appeal in the court. The state government has not yet restored the Congress MLAs’ privileges.
