Telangana: Insurance firms told to complete crop loss survey
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has directed insurance companies to complete the survey of hailstorm-affected insured farmers’ fields to assess the loss incurred and to compute the claims immediately, without any further delay.
The state government also asked the insurance companies to work out and furnish the financial liability of the state government so that claims can be released to the affected insured farmers at the earliest.
Principal secretary of agriculture department C. Pardh-asarathi held a meeting with bankers and insurance companies on Monday to review the status of reconciliation of insurance details for 2017-18, extent of hailstorm damage and for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bheema Yojana (PMFBY).
Insurance companies and bankers were directed to complete the reconciliation process of insured farmers’ details-2017-18 by the end of this month.
The notification for implementing PMFBY was issued and the selected implementing companies were requested to gear up for enrolling more number of farmers.
The government will have a meeting with the insurance companies next week to finalise the claims of the hailstorm-affected farmers.
