Congress will win 130 seats & I'll be Karnataka CM again: Siddaramaiah

On his rival candidate in Badami he said, Let anybody contest, I don't mind. Ultimately the people will decide.

Mysuru: Exuding confidence of a win from Badami in North Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Monday that he would visit it for just a day and hold only one public meeting in the constituency. "The rest will be taken care of by the local leaders," he added airily, adding that he would file his nomination for Badami at 2 pm,Tuesday.

The Chief Minister, who was speaking to reporters here, before heading to campaign for his son, Dr S Yatindra in Varuna, was however, noncommittal when asked which of the two constituencies, Chamundeswari or Badami, he was banking on the most.

On his rival candidate in Badami he said, "Let anybody contest, I don't mind. Ultimately the people will decide. It is a fight between the Congress and BJP."
As for state Janata Dal(S) chief, H.D. Kumaraswamy's comment that he would lose in both constituencies, he said it was funny that someone who could not win against senior Congress leader, Veerapppa Moily in the Lok Sabha elections, was talking about another person's defeat.

We will win over a 130 seats and lead in Hyderabad Karnataka, Mumbai Karnataka, on the coast and in old Mysuru. It seems like a triangular fight, but the ground reality is that it is a fight between the Congress and the BJP in North Karnataka and the Congress and JD (S) in six or seven districts of South Karnataka," he maintained.

On BJP state chief, B.S. Yeddyurappa's 'Mission 150' (to win 150 seats), he claimed it "was blasted during the Nanjangud byelection" and he was now on "Mission 50."

On whether actor turned politician, Ambarish would contest the poll, he said, "He has not met me at all. I have asked our KPCC president to talk to him. It was said that he was in Mysuru and would visit me on Sunday, but he did not meet me." The Chief Minister said he would accompany Congress president, Rahul Gandhi on his tour of the state on April 26 and 27, and later visit other parts of the state on his own.

Later, campaigning for his son in Varuna, he asserted that his government would come to power and he would become Chief Minister again. "I would like to make Karnataka the number one state in the country. With a communal party at the Centre, it is important the Congress is elected for the sake of social harmony and brotherhood," he declared.
