Tamil Nadu poll heat rises with EC shifting officers
Chennai: A day after transferring the managing director of state-owned Arasu Cable TV, the Election Commission on Saturday transferred nine top officers, including four collectors serving at Vellore, Salem, Dindigul and Tirunelveli.
Senior IAS officer D. Karthickeyan is now posted as Salem collector. Similarly Rajendra Ratnoo and S. Nagarajan will assume charge as collectors and district election officers of Vellore and Tirunelveli, a copy of the government order based on Election commission letter dated April 24, said.
The EC also initiated transfer of five superintendents of police in Tamil Nadu. According to a government order issued by home secretary Apurva Verma, Amit Kumar Singh, SP, Crime Branch CID -III, South Zone Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Salem SP. G. Subbulakshmi who was earlier holding the post has been shifted. Santhosh Hadimani, deputy commissioner of police who was in charge of law and order in Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli, is now superintendent of police in Pudukottai, a post lying vacant after a recent transfer of IPS officer S. Rajeswari.
Deputy commissioner of Madurai law and order Bandi Gangadhar is now posted as SP Dharmapuri, replacing J. Loganathan. V. Sasi Mohan, DCP, Crime and Traffic in Salem, has been posted as SP, Namakkal. Nisha Parthiban, DCP, Law and Order, Coimbatore, will be SP, Tiruchy and will replace the incumbent officer E.S. Uma.
