Vijayawada: YSRC MLA Attar Chand Basha (Kadiri constituency of Anantapur district) joined TD at his residence here on Saturday in the presence of CM Chandrababu Naidu. He is the 13th legislator who has switched loyalties to TD from YSRC. On this occasion the CM welcomed the legislator and his followers by presenting yellow coloured shawls.
Actually Basha has been maintaining distance from YSRC for the last several months and now by joining TD is proving right the publicity on of switching to new loyalties. He met TD general secretary Nara Lokesh recently as part of his joining process.
Chand Basha won over TDP candidate K. Venkata Prasad by a margin of only 1,000 votes in the 2014 elections. Basha was in the TDP before elections when he had played an active role in its minority wing but quit TDP after being denied a party ticket.
On this occasion, Chand Basha said that he joined TD for developing his constituency and also to support the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu. He said that everyone should support the government when the state is in crisis. Kaluva Srinivasulu and several leaders were also present at the meeting.
