Visakhapatnam: Jagan Mohan Reddy promises to fill up two lakh vacancies

Mr Reddy had held roadshows in Palasa of Srikakulam district and Paderu in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday.

Visakhapatnam: YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the parents of students to not worry about their higher education and assured them that the coming government will stand for them. In a surprise move, Mr Reddy also promised 50 per cent reservation to BC, SC/ST and Minorities in government nominated contracts.

Mr Reddy had held roadshows in Palasa of Srikakulam district and Paderu in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday. He alleged that the RTC buses and government vehicles are being hired from the companies that belong to ministers. He assured that all of them will be cancelled and said that the unemployed youth will be given a chance. He also promised to provide vehicles to them on subsidy.

Addressing the meetings, he said: “Let your child opt for joining Engineering or MBBS, or if he wants to become a Collector, leave it to me. Let it be in lakhs. You don’t need to spend even a penny for their education. The unemployed youth will be given subsidy on vehicles and all hired vehicles of the government, including the RTC, which will be replaced. As most of them belong to Telugu Desam leaders, they are looting the public’s money. At least by replacing them, jobs will be provided to the unemployed.”

“More than 1.8 lakh students are passing out with a degree and above 1 lakh students are coming out with PG certificates every year. But, the government is not creating any jobs for them. Soon after the YSRC government is formed, the first job of the government is to fill the two lakh vacant jobs in government sector. The YSRC Government will release the job notification in the month of January every year,” Mr Reddy added.

In Palasa and Paderu, Mr Reddy gave more importance to the local issues and addressed them to attract the voters. He has announced dialysis patients `10,000 as pension instead of `2,500 that is being given by the current government. Further, responding on the kidney diseases in the district, he said: “Though the government knows that it is a problem caused due to lack of quality in drinking water, it has not taken any steps. There is no proper treatment for patients. The YSRC Government will come up with a 200 bedded super specialty hospital and research centre in this area. Within two years, the hospital will be opened for patients.” Later, in Paderu, he promised new districts for the Agency areas and assured them with a Medical College, Engineering College and a University. Informing them that a Tribal Advisory Council will be formed, Jagan also said that Bauxite mining will be shut down.
