BJP nominee filed papers for MLC polls

HYDERABAD: BJP candidate A.V.N. Reddy on Thursday filed his nomination papers for the Legislative Council election to the Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad teachers' constituency, after participating in a party rally from Basheerbagh to the GHMC office here. The Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangham (TPUS) extended its support to A.V.N. Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP vice-president D.K. Aruna said that the BRS government had ignored the welfare of teachers and utterly neglected government schools. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had neglected the education sector, she said.

Residential schools are being set up in rented buildings and inferior quality food was being supplied to the students, she said and sought support for the BJP nominee.

A.V.N. Reddy was accompanied by national executive member G. Vivek Venkataswamy, former MLCs N. Ramchander Rao and B. Mohan Reddy, former MLA Marri Sashidhar Reddy.
