Ensure voting rights to BCS: K Ramulu

Ramulu further maintained that he prayed to Lord Venkateswara to bless all the sections of the society for their well-being.

Tirupati: Even today, Right to Vote is being denied to certain backward castes in the society, across the country, and they are left behind for the lifetime in using their voting power, observed National SC/ST Commission member K. Ramulu, who offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara, at Tirumala on Wednesday.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Ramulu pointed out that even after seven decades of Independence, there were minimal chances for the Backward castes to cast their vote in this democratic country.

“It is so unfortunate that even the governments have not been stepping ahead to ensure Right to Vote for the backward people. Both the State and the Central Governments should strive to ensure that every single voter gets an opportunity to cast his vote, irrespective of caste, creed and community,” he said.

Ramulu further maintained that he prayed to Lord Venkateswara to bless all the sections of the society for their well-being and for the development of the country.
