Mysuru: BJP state chief, B S Yeddyurappa claimed on Tuesday that he had evidence in 67 cases against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and would release a "chargesheet" against him in the next two weeks.
Dismissing Mr Siddaramaiah's claim that BJP leaders were like snake charmers without a snake in the basket and had no bite in their charges, he said, "How can we release a chargesheet without evidence? We have it."
Mr Yeddyurappa, who was speaking to reporters, once again claimed that the Congress was instigating the Mahadayi farmers to agitate on the issue. " Mr Siddaramaiah says the state is ready for an out of the court settlement on Mahadayi. But it was a former Congress Chief Minister of Goa, Rane who was responsible for the tribunal being set up by a Supreme Court order. We are ready to convince our party CM in Goa, but let them convince their party members in opposition in Goa. Ms Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have not yet made their stand clear," he deplored.
At a press conference in Mysuru, he claimed the fact that Mr Siddaramaiah and Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa were looking for new constituencies showed they hadn't paid attention to their current constituencies. "Law and order has collapsed in the state, but Siddaramaiah is not ready to listen . He is running a dictatorship like Tughlaq," he charged.
Also, coming down hard on the government's move to present the budget, he pointed out that it could not spend any money once the code of conduct kicked in.
"During my yaathre, farmers told me that their irrigation projects have not been completed. So we will take up Rs 20,000 crore worth irrigation related work every year and one lakh crore worth projects in all five years if elected to power," he promised. He reiterated that the results of the UP elections would be replicated in Karnataka.
