Nara Lokesh Moves High Court Against Censor Clearance for RGV's 'Vyuham'

HYDERABAD: TD general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday petitioned the Telangana High Court to set aside the censor clearance certificate issued to Ramgopal Varma’s Telugu film ‘Vyuham,’ said to be based on the AP political situation. The film was expected to release on December 29.

The film was stated to be a biopic on AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Lokesh said the censor certificate to ‘Vyuham’ was contrary to the spirit of the Cinematograph Act.

He said the film was made to defame TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu and the Telugu Desam.

Stating that there was a possibility of the film-maker releasing the movie on the OTT platform, Lokesh said they were approaching the civil court to stall such a possibility. He asked why Ram Gopal Varma was making films against the TD and Naidu though three of his movies on similar lines did not do well at the box office.
