Hyderabad: BRS working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday demanded that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre confer the Bharat Ratna on former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
Rama Rao was speaking after paying tribute to the former prime minister at PV Ghat. He said that the previous BRS government demanded the Bharat Ratna for Narasimha Rao.
Narasimha Rao had done meritorious work at the Centre when he was Prime Minister and had strengthened the financial system. The Congress had neglected him and his family after Narasimha Rao's tenure, Rama Rao said. He noted that Narasimha Rao’s reforms had yielded good results for the country.
