BJP portraying Karnataka in bad light: KPCC working president Dinesh Gundurao
Bengaluru: Lashing out at state BJP leaders, KPCC working president Dinesh Gundurao on Friday played the ‘Karnataka Asmitha’ card accusing them of inviting their central leaders to portray Karnataka in bad light.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Rao alleged that BJP leaders here seemed to enjoy it when their central leaders make baseless accusations against the state. "Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, whose state is in shambles compared to Karnataka, is accusing our state of not doing enough. We stand third in the country in tax collection while Uttar Pradesh is at 19th. Our contribution to the country's foreign direct investment is about 19 per cent but nobody knows where UP stands in this regard. What amuses me is that when Adityanath makes baseless accusations against our state, our BJP leaders are enjoying them to the hilt. Shouldn't they be ashamed of themselves when an outsider makes fun of our state?," he said.
Asserting that BJP is not the only custodian of Hindus in the country, Mr Gundurao said the Congress too had a fair share of Hindu followers.
