Saidai sees business links between Shekhar, MK Stalin son
Chennai: Former Chennai mayor Saidai S. Duraisamy on Wednesday alleged business links between sand baron Shekhar Reddy and a company owned by Udayanidhi Stalin, son of Opposition leader M.K. Stalin, prompting the DMK to rubbish his claims and mount a scathing attack on him.
Speaking to reporters, Duraisamy accused Stalin of defaming him by claiming that Income Tax authorities had searched his residences in the past. “No such thing had happened ever and despite my letters to him explaining my stand, he (Stalin) continues to level allegations and spread lies about me,” he said.
“Are there not links between Stalin’s family and Shekhar Reddy? What is the connection between Red Giant Movies (owned by Udayanidhi) and Reddy?” Duraisamy asked. Dismissing the allegations, former Chennai mayor Ma Subramanian said there was not even iota of truth in them. “It is Duraisamy who is corrupt. There are several irregularities that he indulged in when he was the Mayor. There have been irregularities in buying chapatti makers for Amma canteen when he was mayor,” Subramanian said.
