16 days and 375 km: Rahul\'s Bharat Jodo Yatra to enter Telangana today

After entering Telangana at Gudebellur, Rahul Gandhi will take a three-day break for Diwali and resume walking on October 27

Hyderabad: After covering more than a third of his 3,570-km Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will enter Telangana at Gudebellur, Narayanpet district, from Raichur, Karnataka on Sunday morning.

In the state, Rahul Gandhi will cover 375 km, walking through 19 Assembly and seven Parliament constituencies, in 16 days. He and the BJY volunteers will walk 20 to 25 kms on average every day. The padayatra will be undertaken in two phases every day, with a break between 10.30 am and 4 pm.

During the break, Rahul Gandhi will meet people from different sections. He will address road corner meetings at night. Pradesh Congress Committee chief A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the preparations for the yatra at Makthal on Saturday.

After entering Telangana at Gudebellur, Rahul Gandhi will take a three-day break for Diwali and resume walking on October 27. The Telangana Congress has made all the arrangements to ensure Rahul Gandhi gets a rousing welcome and participation in the state.

Revanth Reddy told mediapersons, “Rahul Gandhi has taken up the Bharat Jodo Yatra to protect national integrity, which is being damaged by the BJP. It is an attempt to reverse the conspiracies being hatched by the BJP, which has created an atmosphere of hatred by stoking differences in the name of religion.”

After crossing the Assembly constituency of Makthal, the yatra will pass through Narayanpet, Devarakadra, Mahbubnagar, Jedcharla, Shadnagar, Rajendranagar, Bahadurpura, Charminar, Goshamahal, Nampally, Khairtabad, Kukatpally, Serilingampally, Patancheru, Sangareddy, Andole, Narayankhed and Jukkal constituencies.

These fall in the Mahbubnagar, Chevella, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Medak and Zaheerabad parliamentary constituencies.

Towards making it a success, the PCC has formed various organisations. The committee headed by former PCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy is coordinating with civic society groups which have pledged their support to the BJY. The committee allocating slots for them to meet Rahul Gandhi.
