TD politburo member on indefinite hunger strike in Rayadurg

Anantapur: TD politburo member Kalava Sreenivasulu has gone on an indefinite hunger strike at Rayadurg in Anantapur district on Friday protesting against the arrest of Telugu Desam supremo and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Sreenivasulu had accompanied Naidu for over a week during the latter’s yatra in Anantapur and Kurnool districts. He was also present when Chandrababu was arrested by AP CID at Nandyal. He accompanied Naidu to the ACB Court till Naidu was sent for judicial custody. He was later hospitalised for a cardiac-related issue.

The politburo member sat on hunger strike at the NTR statue in Rayadurg town. He announced that he will continue his hunger fast till Naidu is released from the prison.

Sreenivasulu said he has seen Naidu working from close quarters. The former CM had started skill development centres for providing employment to youth. There is no question of any corruption, he maintained.

The politburo member maintained that afraid of his defeat in the forthcoming elections, Chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is harassing opposition party leaders.
