Kishan, Chugh demand immediate release of Telangana BJP chief

HYDERABAD: Several BJP leaders on Tuesday demanded the immediate release of state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and several other party workers arrested by the police in different parts of the state.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy condemned Sanjay’s arrest and said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was directing TRS leaders and party workers to obstruct Sanjay’s Praja Sangrama Yatra.

The efforts to stop the padayatra are being directly supervised by the Chief Minister, Kishan Reddy said, adding that BJP workers were being targeted across the state by having cases filed against them under false charges. “People of Telangana are enlightened and will send the TRS, and the Chief Minister’s family out of power,” he said.

Meanwhile, party national general secretary Tarun Chugh said that the “barbaric and rogue government of K Chandrashekar Rao would soon be brought to its knees.” Condemning Sanjay’s arrest, Chugh said party workers will launch state-wide protests against Sanjay’s arrest, as well as that of party workers at different places.

“The BJP will never give up its struggle against the family rule of KCR,” he said, adding “BJP is only trying to bring to limelight the alleged involvement in the alleged liquor scam involving Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, and TRS lawmaker Kalvakuntla Kavitha.”

Chugh said as Kavitha happened to be his daughter so the chief minister KCR's links with the liquor scam would also come to limelight soon.
