Revanth Reddy to launch two-day deeksha demanding TRS to fulfil poll promises
HYDERABAD: State Congress president A. Revanth Reddy along with Dalit and Girijan leaders and activists will sit on a two-day deeksha at Muduchintalapalli village in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on August 24, demanding that the TRS government fulfil its election promises immediately.
The deeksha will begin at 10 am on Tuesday and end at 5 pm on Wednesday, and is being observed as part of the Dalit, Girijana Atma Gourava Dandora. The party aims to build on the successes of the first and second dandora meetings at Indravelli in Adilabad and Raviryala in Chevella Parliamentary constituency with the deeksha.
Dalit and Girijan leaders visited Muduchintalapalli village on Monday to oversee arrangements for the deeksha, which includes rain protection for the dais.. TPCC working president Azharuddin, Mallu Ravi, former union minister Balram Naik, SC, ST Cell chairmen Preetham, Jaganlal Naik, former MLC Ramulu Naik, former MP Sircilla Rajaiah, Mahila Congress president Sunita Rao and others visited the venue.
Speaking to reporters, Congress senior leaders said that Revanth Reddy is fighting for downtrodden. “The dandora meetings were more successful than we expected,” they said. The Chief Minister has failed to fulfil his election promises of giving three acres of land for SCs, double bedroom houses and government jobs for each household, they criticised.
Congress leaders said that Revanth Reddy got inspiration from Indira Gandhi to work for the uplift of Dalits and Girijans. They called upon all sections to make a grand success of the dandora programmes.
