Khammam: 60-day plan: GPs, ULBs to be made green

Officials have been ordered to see that the premises of each school have a clean and green look.

KHAMMAM: Adhering to the directions of the government to make all gram panchayats and urban areas green spots, collectors of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem have begun chalking out ways to execute the government’s action plan.

Green spaces will be created in every gram panchayat and vaikuntadhamam would also be established there. Achieving grama swarajya is the main concept of the action plan. The government is looking at making qualitative changes in all the villages and towns in the two districts.

To begin with, farmers’ issues would be addressed on a war footing. The 60-day-target includes extending corruption free administration to the people. Collectors have been asked to collect opinions of the people about the new Revenue Act that will be introduced.

The main focus will be on Haritha Haram and villages will be developed with good forest cover and plantations. The new Panchayat Raj Act-2018 also aims to shape rural habitations into healthy ones like municipalities.

Officials have been ordered to see that the premises of each school have a clean and green look.

“In case there is no dumping yard or burial grounds in any villages, officials should acquire lands,” said the government official.
