Congress on the decline, says BS Yeddyurappa
Mysuru: Former Chief Minister and BJP state president, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa claimed the Congress was fast declining in Karnataka. Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said Congress leaders were speaking in support of Amnesty, and were justifying their anti-national slogans.
They are trying to crush the protests by the ABVP, the saffron party’s students wing, Mr. Yeddyurappa said. The BJP will fight this in the coming days, he said.
To a question related to senior leader K.S. Eshwarappa who had floated Sangolli Rayanna brigade much against Mr Yeddyurappa’s opposition, the former Chief Minister said, “I would not like to name anybody but if there is a threat to the party from anybody, the high command will look into it. Our national president Mr Amit Shah has reiterated even yesterday that I will be the next Chief Minister. We need to win 150 of the 224 seats to hold on to power. There is no confusion in the party. All party workers need to work with unity. Hence I am touring the entire state and the response has been positive,” Mr Yeddyurappa said.
