Mysuru: Ruling Congress targeting BJP workers, says BJP leader R Ashok

Instead of arresting the culprits who killed Sharath, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was indulging in vote bank politics, Mr Rai said.

Mysuru: BJP leader R. Ashok has accused Forest Minister Ramanath Rai of involvement in the recent death of RSS leader Sharath Madival at Mangaluru.

He was speaking to media persons after staging a protest at Agrahara circle in Mysuru on Saturday, organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, condemning Sharath’s murder. Mr Ashok said, “When BJP was in power in the state, no Congress worker was killed. But after Congress came to power workers belonging to BJP and other pro Hindu organisations are being targeted and 24 have been killed so far in the state.”

Instead of arresting the culprits who killed Sharath, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was indulging in vote bank politics. Mr Rai’s visits to places of worships of different faiths, is another technique to woo voters.

The assurance given by government and the police, after the murder of RSS worker Rudresh R. in Bengaluru on October 16 last year, has turned out to be hollow, he alleged.
