FIR filed against Mayawati by Dayashankar's family in Lucknow
Lucknow: An FIR was on Friday filed against Mayawati and some of her party leaders by police on a complaint by the family of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh whose whereabouts were not known after he kicked up a controversy by questioning the character of the BSP supremo.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), on Friday, termed as baseless the charges levelled against it regarding use of abusive language for the women family members of Dayashankar Singh.
The BJP, on the other hand, will be holding a programme in every district on Saturday called “Beti ke samman mein, BJP maidan mein” in which party leaders will submit memorandums to the Governor through district officials, drawing his attention to the harassment of daughters.
BJP spokesman Vijay Pathak said, “While we condemn the words used by Dayashankar and have already taken action against him, we also do not approve of the manner in which BSP workers are targeting his wife, minor daughter and other women relatives”.
