Mini Mahanadu: Telugu Desam leaders sound bugle for GVMC polls
Visakhapatnam: Telugu Desam leaders, on Sunday, sounded the bugle for GVMC polls, though the schedule is yet to be announced. The forthcoming GVMC polls were in all focus at the TD mini Mahanadu held on Sunday. Leaders asked the party workers to work with close tandem to clinch the GVMC mayor post.
Ministers from Visakhapatnam district hinted that the TD will contest the civic polls, in alliance with its partner at Centre and state -- BJP, and that seats to the saffron party will be accommodated without damaging the prospects of TD workers.
Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ch. Ayyanapatrudu said there are chances for the GVMC polls to be held either in September or October and asked the cadre to strive hard from now itself to win all the wards.
“TD men should be ready to face the GVMC polls. These polls are expected to be held anytime around October. Every party activist should strive hard so that all wards are won by us. You should start visiting wards from now. Every TD activist should be available for the public to solve their problems, if any,” said Mr Rao.
Resolutions seeking state government to resolve the issues of pollution caused by Vizag port, Gajuwaka house committee on lands, Simhachalam Pancha Gramalu and also filling nominated posts were passed unanimously at the meet.
