Congress to pass all 'guarantees' in party Guarantee Card after coming to power: DK

Belthangady: Confident of winning 141 seats in the forthcoming assembly election, KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar today said that the first cabinet of the Congress government would pass all the ‘Guarantees,’ assured in the 'Guarantee Card' of the party.

He was speaking while campaigning for Belthangady candidate Rakshith Shivaram on Saturday.

“I am confident that in the forthcoming election, we will come to power in the state by winning 141 seats. I and Siddaramaiah have signed the Guarantee Card which is being distributed by our workers. In the first cabinet itself we will pass the schemes mentioned in the Guarantee Card of free 200 units per house, Rs 2,000 for the women head of the family, and 10 kg rice for the family,” Shivakumar said.

“Whenever Congress has come to power people of all sections have been empowered. BJP which got 104 seats in the last election formed the government through Operation Lotus. Can anybody say that the Double Engine government has made any changes in their life?” he questioned.

Shivakumar said that the party has fielded new faces based on the survey reports after calculations and discussions.

He assured that the Coastal and Malnad region of Karnataka would be developed by forming a separate Board.

“This will ensure the youth of the region need not go to distant places like Mumbai, Bengaluru, or abroad for jobs,” he said.

“The BJP dam is shattered. Jagadish Shettar who had served as the Party president, Chief Minister and MLA for 30 years was denied the ticket. Laxman Savadi too. About a dozen BJP legislators wanted to join Congress but we did not have a place,” Shivakumar claimed.
