TRS denies drift towards BJP
Hyderabad: The ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi has denied reports that the party is moving closer to the BJP.
TRS leaders on Sunday addressed a press conference saying that party chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been making efforts to float a new front nationally against the BJP and the Congress, since both parties have failed in the past 70 years during their rule and the question of TRS joining hands with any of these two national parties does not arise.
TRS MLC Ramulu Naik said AICC president Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Congress leaders were resorting to false propaganda that TRS has a secret pact with BJP and TRS is trying to benefit BJP by floating alternate front.
“Our party chief KCR repeatedly clarified that his proposed front at national level was not about bringing two or three political parties together and play cheap politics as is being done by some leaders. He categorically stated that both Congress and BJP which ruled the country for nearly 70 had failed and could not fulfill even basic needs of people like drinking water, irrigatoin, housing etc. His aim is to unite people of India against the misrule of Congress and BJP all these years and bring about a qualitative change in Indian poltics and governance,” Mr Naik said.
He thanked CM for giving rights to tribals over forest lands in their occupation and extending Rs 8,000 per acre per year financial assistance to tribals doing cultivation on forest lands.
“All these years, tribals were just treated as a vote bank by all parties. But for the first time KCR garu gave rights to them on forest lands. He recently converted tribal thandas into panchayats, thus fulfilling the decades-old aspirations of tribals. Thandas will prosper with development programmes. Tribals will be indebted to KCR garu for ever,” Mr Naik remarked.
He alleged that Congress leaders, who are frustrated over people not believing them were resorting to malicious campaign of secret pact between TRS and BJP.
