Left parties will defeat BJP, RSS in 2019, says Sitaram Yechury
Hyderabad: Newly re-elected CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a huge public meeting at Saroor Nagar Stadium here on Sunday.
After seeing them, people now believe that all Modis are looters. Common people are saving their hard-earned money in banks, but these Modis are looting this money, giving it as loans to capitalists and corporates, who are evading the loans and fleeing the country,” Mr Yechury alleged drawing thunderous applause from the audience.
Mr Yechury compared the fight between the Left parties and BJP/RSS to the war between the Kauravas and Pandavas, which too was appreciated by his audience.
“Kauravas are hundred. But who knows the names of all of them except for two — Duryodhana and Dussasana. Similarly, the BJP/RSS leaders may be in large numbers, but people know only about Narendra Modi, who is Duryodhana, and Amit Shah, who is Dushasana. Like five Pandavas defeated Kauravas, Left parties will defeat BJP, RSS in 2019 polls,” he declared.
Mr Yechury expressed serious concern over the agrarian crisis and increasing number of suicides by farmers in the country. “In 2014 elections, Modi promised to double the income of farmers. He also promised crop loan waiver. After coming to power, they waived off loans. But for whom? Not farmers, but big investors and corporates. They have waived over '3 lakh crore for them in these three years. This money belongs to common people who saved their earnings in banks,” he stated.
He was confident the Lal Janda (red flag of the communists) would fly high in Telangana soon.
CPM’s Telangana state leader, Tammineni Veerabhadram, who also spoke on the occasion, said the TRS regime had not fulfilled the objective for which Telangana state had been formed.
“Telangana people believed that their lives will change for the better if statehood is achieved. All sections in the state feel cheated by the CM and are ready to teach him a fitting lesson in 2019 elections,” he predicted.
