AIADMK merger talks hit roadblock

Outcome of the Delhi police interrogation of T.T.V. Dhinakaran will impact the negotiations.

Chennai: The talks between the two rival factions of the AIADMK, expected to be held at the party headquarters on Monday, will not yield quick results as differences continue to vitiate the patch-up effort. Also, the outcome of the Delhi police interrogation of party deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran for about seven hours, will impact the negotiations.

As for the main points of dispute, the faction led by former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam wants the calendar to revert to the February 4 situation, when he had to step down as CM.
