Coalition government will bring real change, says GK Vasan

The TMC also announced Vasan's election campaign from April 23 to May 6 from Tuticorin.

Chennai: Tamil Maanila Congress led by former Union minister G.K. Vasan on Friday promised real political change with the formation of a coalition government in the state, in its election manifesto for the May 16 Assembly elections.

Vasan, who released the manifesto, said the change promised by the DMK would not be real as changing parties at the helm would not bring the desired change. Only a coalition government could usher in the real change. “The manifesto gives priority to food, shelter, education, health and employment. It will create renaissance in education and revolution in agriculture”, he said.

The manifesto reflected the wishes of farmers, poor people and youth, he said and assured to write off agricultural and educational loans, he said. Vasan said the TMC manifesto stressed on the welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils, abolition of liquor and the issues faced by the Tamil Nadu fishermen and added that the party would urge the Centre to act on the issues. Vasan said people’s support is increasing for his alliance and it would win the elections and form a good government in the state.

The TMC also announced Vasan’s election campaign from April 23 to May 6 from Tuticorin and he will cover Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar till April 25. He will campaign in Madurai, Theni and Nilgiris districts on April 26.
