Anbumani Ramadoss: PMK's alliance is with people
Vellore: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) is the only party which functions courageously and independently without seeking alliance with any other political party in the Tamil Nadu, said its youth wing leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss.
However, “the PMK is having alliance with youngsters, men, women, fishermen, farmers and students, as they all know both the Dravidian parties had not brought any benefit to the people in their 50 years of ruling the state,” he said at an election meeting here for the May 16 Assembly polls.
Dr Anbumani made an appeal to the people to give the party a chance to bring about a vast change in the lives of the people. He said the party wanted to change the political culture in the state.
He said that the DMK leader M.K.Stalin had been silent when he was asked why the DMK party did not take action to close down the breweries in the state when they ruled the state. Anbumani also said that nearly 61 percent of alcoholic breweries were supplied to Tasmac shops from the “factories run by DMK party people”. If the DMK wanted to really bring total prohibition, they should have closed the factories, when they ruled the state, he reiterated.
Referring to Vellore being a “very big district” with a population of 57 lakh, Dr Anbumani said if the PMK was voted to power, it would trifurcate the district into Vellore, Arakkonam and Thiruppathur to ensure better administration.
Assuring that Vellore district would not suffer due to several tanneries in the area, Dr Anbumani said that his party, if voted to power, would link Palar river with Thenpennai and other rivers in Thiruvannamalai and Krishnagiri districts.
At the public meeting, Dr Anbumani introduced all the PMK candidates who are
contesting from Vellore, Krishnagiri and Thiruvannamalai districts. Former Union minister A.Velu welcomed the gathering.
