Jana Sena MP-aspirant to fight mafia
Visakhapatnam: Former CBI joint director and the Jana Sena’s Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha candidate V.V. Lakshminarayana said party chief Pawan Kalyan had asked him to contest from the seat to “act as a kotwal to fight the land mafia.”
Mr Lakshmi Narayana filed his nomination papers on Friday after performing pooja at the Sampath Vinayaka temple and walked the three-km distance to the collector’s office.
He later interacted with paramilitary personnel posted at the temple for security.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Lakshminarayana said, “Politics is not part-time and I’m committed to working full-time for the people. It is good that Vizag is growing as a financial city on the lines of Mumbai and we should be careful that Mumbai-like mafia should not enter the city. The people should decide through their vote whether they want peace or violence.”
Speaking at a meeting in the Visakhapatnam Assembly segment, Mr Lakshminarayana said, “Pawan Kalyan has asked me to contest from Vizag to take on the land mafia in the city. People should vote for a change. With more youth, China has developed well. In the hands of corrupt politicians, the country is not witnessing development.”
He said he would be available for the public at all times. “When I thought of entering politics, many people asked me about the money I have. This should change. Youth should come forward.”
