BJP may field Sreesanth in Tripunithura

He claims to have received offers from all the three leading political parties in Kerala.

Kochi: Can S. Sreesanth repeat his devastating bowling spells in the political field and stump his opponents? That is the million-dollar question facing the electorate as he prepares to fight a tough battle for the Assembly donning the BJP mantle.

The former cricketer has confirmed that he would enter the fray from his home town and that he’s most likely to take the ride on a BJP ticket. He claims to have received offers from all the three leading political parties in Kerala. But he is more inclined to don the saffron hat and has insisted on announcing ‘his party’ via Twitter on Wednesday.

“I’ve been approached by the Congress, the Communists and the BJP,” said Sreesanth, 33, and added that he was an exception in a family of CPM faithful. “As I’m from Ernakulam, I’ve got offers for Tripunithura, but there are also offers from other districts,” he said.

Explaining his decision to enter politics, the Kerala speedster says life had put him through various phases and that he considered himself ready for a role change. “It’s one life. I’ve had my share in cricket, now I’m in Bollywood, so why not politics?”

“I’ve gone through hard times and also the best of times; I’ve experienced a lot in this young age,” said Sreesanth, who’s now involved in a Pooja Bhatt’s Bollywood project ‘Cabaret.’

“God willing if I contest and win, I want to be the most happening MLA,” said Sreesanth. “I had a tendency of thinking it doesn’t matter whoever is ruling as long as we earn our living, but now I know that is not right.”
