TD leaders irked but vow to stand by CM's decision

AP would get 50 more Assembly seats in future.

Vijayawada: Some senior TD leaders from Kurnool have raised their worries over the induction of YSRC leaders into the ruling party. Four of them -- TD president Shilpa Mohan Reddy and his brother Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, former minister late K. Siva Reddy's wife Lakshmi Devamma and his son-in-law and Jammalamadugu constituency TD in-charge K. Ramasubba Reddy -- met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Monday and expressed their anguish over the move.

Lakshmi Devamma reminded Mr Naidu that they had faced problems from the Opposition for the last 10 years. She had lost her husband and son due to the faction rivalry while they were trying to protect the interests of the party. “Now, how could we associate with them,” she asked.

The TD lost a large number of its activists due to the faction rivalry. Now, how could the leaders work with such men who crossed over from the YSRC. “We faced harassment politically and financially when the TD was in the Opposition,” she noted, but said she and others would however follow the CM's decision in the best interests of the party.

Shilpa brothers said they too spoke to the CM in a similar vein. They would have difficulty joining hands with the Booma family with whom they had disputes. However, they would follow the path shown by the CM in the party's interest.

Mr Naidu tried to assuage their feelings and said he would protect the interests of all the seniors in the party. He met Lakshmi Devamma and Ramasubba Reddy at Krishna TD office. As per sources, corporation chairman post and MLC post offers would be given to Ramasubba Reddy. Ramasubba Reddy said he did not ask any post. Meanwhile, ministers K Atchannaidu and Ganta Srinivas said more defections would follow.

AP would get 50 more Assembly seats in future and there was no need for any leader to worry about loss of his position due to the arrival of new leaders into the party, they said.

MLAs all had development of constituencies in mind

MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy said that he joined in TD for purpose of development of his constituency. Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Nagi Reddy said that for last several years there was no development in their constituencies.

The rank and file of TD have confidence on CM N Chandrababu's leadership and every one is wishing the development. He ruled out that he joined for minister post. At present, CM Chandrababu experience and services are required for state development when which is under crisis.

MLA Jaleel Khan said that he joined in TD for development works. CM assured to develop development works and as well as Muslim community.
