ST funds being diverted, alleges BJP leader
HYDERABAD: BJP leader Ravindra Naik slammed ST legislators from TRS for using abusive language against his party’s state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and demanded an apology.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Naik said that tribal MLAs were not ascertaining their rights and had become puppets in the hands of the manipulative Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He said the Centre had allocated more than Rs 2 lakh crore for the uplift of tribals in the state. But the state government has diverted the amount to other activities.
BJP is focussing on winning the 12 MLA seats reserved for ST category as part of its Mission-12 in the next Assembly elections. This was announced at a recent coordination committee meeting of the party that was chaired by Sanjay.
Irked by the aggressive strategy to win ST constituencies, 12 ruling party MLAs, including a woman minister, launched a scathing attack against the BJP, particularly Sanjay.
