TRS leaders intimidated the voters and threatened them of facing of dire consequences if they did not vote for the ruling party candidates.

HYDERABAD: The BJP state president, Dr K. Lakshman, on Wednesday alleged that the TRS under the fear of being defeated, indulged in malpractices during the polling with the support of the police to get votes.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP state office, he pointed out, when the TRS president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and the working president, K.T. Rama Rao, repe-atedly claimed victory in Urban Local Bodies elections with their progressive agenda of welfare and development activities, why is it that they feel the need to indulge in malpractices using muscle and money power during the polling on Wednesday.

Stating that BJP has first time contested 85 per cent of seats in municipal elections without any alliance. he claimed that the BJP would certainly stand in second place in many of the ULBs.

He alleged that the TRS leaders created obstacles to the BJP voters and in Nizamabad Municipal Corporation they went to the extent of pulling out the BJP voters from several booths and caste bogus votes.

The state BJP chief also alleged that in the municipalities of Tandur, Nalgonda, Ramgundam, Parkal, Vardhannapet and Jagtial, the TRS leaders intimidated the voters and threatened them of facing of dire consequences if they did not vote for the ruling party candidates.
