Chennai: Contending that good connectivity to and from rural areas is the key to development, Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan has claimed that only the Modi government has ensured more development to the country.
“It is under the Modi government that villages are developing fast, (government is) taking development to rural poor through rural roads. Rural roads are being built at double the pace than earlier,” the Minister said.
“#NaMoWorked4Poor To make sure that poor get paid for their hardwork on time, Modi govt made the process of disbursal of MGNREGS wages transparent & fast. 92 per cent in 2013-14,” MGNREGS wage payments were generated within 15 days in 2018-19 against just 34 per cent in 2013-14,” Radhakrishnan tweeted.
In another tweet, he said “#NaMoWorked4Poor Modi Govt, after electrifying every village, is now taking electrification to every home. More than 2.4 crore rural homes have been powered through Saubhagya Yojana.”
