Welfare aim will help to win polls, says CM N Chandrababu Naidu

He had set a target that public satisfaction-level should reach 80 per cent before the 2019 elections.

VIJAYAWADA: Welfare is the main product and winning elections is the by-product, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu explained to core group leaders of Telugu Desam party, before leaving for Davos. The CM unveiled a new political strategy and asked leaders to refine themselves and to approach the untouched sections of the party.

While advocating the need for electoral, judicial and welfare reforms, the CM urged party leaders and elected public representatives to constantly monitor the public satisfaction-level. He had set a target that public satisfaction-level should reach 80 per cent before the 2019 elections.

The Chief Minister had explained about the welfare schemes being implemented in the state, and asked the core group leaders to effectively utilise social media platforms to disseminate the outcome of the welfare schemes, with supporting evidence such as individual success stories of beneficiaries. The TD chief has underscored the need for reforms at individual-level, among the party leaders and elected public representatives.

In the recent coordination committee meeting of the TD at Velagapudi Secretariat, Mr Naidu labelled it third reform, after ‘Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru’ and ‘Intintiki’ Telugu Desam initiatives.

“This reform is highly difficult but every leader of the party has to practice it,” Naidu said.

The TD national president had also stated earlier that the best talented people are all in the ruling party of Singapore and anticipated that AP would follow suit.

Naidu has advised core leaders to go for a talent hunt, find out the cream from the society and invite them into the party.

“People need welfare. We are for the welfare and it is the main product,” Naidu said and added that Singapore model of development politics is essential for Andhra Pradesh. By reiterating that winning elections is only a by-product of the welfare, Naidu advised the leaders and cadre to not deviate from the ‘welfare’ agenda.
