Can't deter me with threats: KS Eshwarappa

K.S. Eshwarappa made it clear that he will not be cowed down by the threat of disciplinary action by the party.

Kalaburagi: While reiterating his determination to continue with the avowed agenda of the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade, Senior BJP Leader K.S. Eshwarappa made it clear that he will not be cowed down by the threat of disciplinary action by the party.

Speaking at a function organized by the Brigade at Afzalpur, which was viewed as a challenge to the BJP which ended its two day State Executive Committee meeting here on Sunday, Mr Eshwarappa wondered aloud why state BJP president Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa had taken the Brigade issue so personally.

" He has been declared the CM candidate by the national unit of the party and if anyone is eyeing the post, it will tantamount to betrayal of the party. Mr Yeddyurappa has warned that action will be initiated against those who associate themselves with the Brigade. He has supreme power and can take any decision he feels appropriate. But I will not be cowed by the threat of action for continuing the activities of the Brigade", Mr Eshwaappa remarked.

I’ve had enough: Ayanur quits
"Anguished" over the continued tirade against State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa by leader of the Opposition in the Council K.S. Eshwarappa and the silence being maintained by the high command, former BJP Rajya Sabha Member Ayanur Manjunath has tendered his resignation as the party incharge of three districts.

Mr Manjunath, who is the in-charge of Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur and Uttar Kannada districts, arrived here on Sunday to tender his resignation to Mr Yeddyurappa.

In the hand-written letter addressed to Mr Yeddyurappa, Mr Manjunath stated he did not believe that the intentions of both Mr Eshwarappa who has launched the "Sangolli Rayanna Brigade" and the "invisible hands" which have instigated him to launch it, are good.

On the other hand his strong belief was that Mr Eshwarappa has been conniving with the JD(S) to defeat the ‘Mission 150 plus’ plan of BJP National President Amit Shah and prevent Mr Yeddyurappa from becoming Chief Minister again so that he himself can grab the chair through the back door, he remarked.

Mr Manjunath observed that he was pained that the national leadership of the BJP was helplessly watching the "ugly drama" now unfolding in the state unit of the party.

"With a view to draw its attention to the developments, I'm tendering my resignation", he stated. Later during an interaction with the media, Mr Manjunath while accusing Mr Eshwarappa of practicing suicidal politics, sternly asked him not to be a hypocrite by proclaiming that he would ensure Mr Yeddyurappa becomes the next chief minister.
