CM takes a dig at Mysuru MP over false claims

BENGALURU: In an oblique reference to Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Prathap Simha, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday criticized Prathap Simha accusing him of trying to take 'false' credit for the upgradation of National Highway linking Mysuru and Bengaluru from 4-lane to 10-lane while the upgradation of National Highway was done when he was the Chief Minister from 2013-2018 and Dr H.C. Mahadevappa was the then Minister for Public Works Department. Prathap Simha belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for Kidwai Memorial Institute for Oncology in Mysuru city, Siddaramaiah, belongs to Mysuru and represents Varuna Assembly seat, said “Some have the habit of trying to take false credit over development works and keep on telling lies. Such persons are dangerous for the society.” He asked the people not to believe such persons.

He said that “We should speak on our contributions otherwise it’s better to keep quiet” and sought the support of voters to fulfill his commitments for Mysuru. “Our government has laid emphasis on education and policing,” said the Chief Minister.

His government aims to provide medical facilities for free of cost or at affordable costs for the common man and stated that Cancer hospitals are needed in all districts of the State while expressing concern over the rise in cancer cases in all age groups.

Siddaramaiah assured to consider the demand for setting-up of nephrology Centre in Mysuru and steps would be initiated to make the wish come true. Siddaramaiah said his son Dr Yathinda, a former MLA, has made a demand to set-up a Bone marrow Centre in Mysuru and assured all medical facilities would be made available in Mysuru city which is fast growing city of the State after Bengaluru city.

District incharge and Minister for Social Welfare Dr H.C. Mahadevappa, MLAs G.T. Devegowda, Harish Gowda, Tanveer Sait, Ravi Shankar and others were present.
