Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri will contest from the Korutla Assembly constituency, ending speculation about his candidacy. The party high command announced his candidature from Korutla, which is the native place of Arvind's grandparents.
Arvind has been working strategically to strengthen the BJP’s base in the Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency. He has invited key leaders from the Congress and BRS into the party fold in all seven Assembly constituencies. Newcomers like Paidi Rakesh Reddy have been inducted into the BJP and declared as the MLA candidate from the Armoor Assembly constituency.
Arvind's father, former PCC president D. Srinivas, belongs to Velpur and his mother Vijayalaxmi is from Korutla. Arvind has strong relations in both the Armoor and Korutla Assembly constituencies. Earlier, he wanted to contest from Armoor and set up residence in the town.
However, the delay in setting up the National Turmeric Board adversely affected the BJP in the Armoor area. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the board, the party's graph rapidly increased not only in Armoor but in the entire north Telangana region.
Giving importance to his followers, Arvind decided to contest from Korutla. He left Armoor for Paidi Rakesh Reddy and decided to break the dominance of forward communities in Korutla.
The people of Korutla are eagerly waiting for BC leadership as MP Arvind belongs to the sizable Munnur Kapu community. The BCs are in an upbeat mood as the MP has decided to contest from Korutla. Political observers opine that Arvind's contest from Korutla will yield multiple benefits for the BJP as well as the political arena of Telangana.
