Tension in Kuppam as YSRC, TDP men clash
TIRUPATI: Tension prevailed in Kuppam constituency on Friday when Telugu Desam leaders and workers tried to protest the remarks of RESCO chairman Senthil Kumar against their chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Trouble started when ruling party cadres tried to prevent the TD protest.
Senthil Kumar, while addressing YSRC’s Janagraha Deeksha in Kuppam on Thursday, allegedly used abusive language against Naidu and went to the extent of saying that he would throw a bomb at the former chief minister’s car when he comes to Kuppam.
According to information, the TD leaders, who took serious objections to Senthil’s comments, had planned to reach the police station in a rally and complain against him. In a counter-attack, YSRC cadre also took out a rally, demanding Naidu to tender an apology for allowing his party leaders to use derogatory language against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
A scuffle broke out between the two factions after what began as arguments. When Kuppam police tried to pacify the two factions, a YSRC leader reportedly pushed circle inspector Sadik Ali.
However, the police finally managed to pacify the two groups and received the complaint from the TD leaders. Following the incident, additional police forces were deployed in Kuppam town.
