Cyber investigation cells to be set up in all districts: BS Yediyurappa
Bengaluru: Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Monday said that his government will sanction setting up of cyber investigating cells in all district headquarters of the state.
At a Police Foundation Day function, organised on the premises of City Armed Reserve (CAR), he said that it is to counter the rising number of financial and online frauds. The cells will also keep a check on the drug racket, he said.
He said that his government has already approved cyber investigating cells in all the eight DCP offices in the city.
Cyber cells help prevent financial and online frauds that have remained unchecked in districts, he said. The CM said that 233 highway patrolling vehicles will be introduced across the state.
Women police stations in Mangaluru, Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad will be upgraded and converted into one-stop service centres for women, he said.
