Ticket race in all constituencies except Pulivendula and Kuppam: Krishna Prasad

VIJAYAWADA: Mylavaram YSRC Vasantha Krishna Prasad said that there would be no competition for tickets in only two assembly constituencies, out of the total 175 in AP. “Pulivendula is one and the other is Kuppam," he said.

The MLA said he would continue in politics if he got a chance in the 2024 elections and concentrate on business if failed to get the ticket.

Notably, housing minister Jogi Ramesh is trying to contest from Mylavaram in the coming elections. Prasad and Ramesh traded criticisms against each other publicly, which irritated chief minister Jagan Reddy. He called the minister and MLA and asked them to work as per the party line. But, on Monday, Prasad again targeted the minister through loaded political comments.

The MLA participated in the swearing in of the new committee of the Mylavaram Agricultural Cooperative Credit Union and distribution of cheques to the farmers. There, Prasad said he is one of the 175 MLAs in this state and not involved in any corruption.

Recalling the comments of Tamil superstar, the MLA said, "As Rajinikanth said in a movie, there is no city without a barking dog and no mouth without criticism. I want to be without a brand of sects or castes but sadly they are sticking brands to me.”

Krishna Prasad claimed, "I am one of the most honest among the MLAs. If given a chance I would serve the people, otherwise I would do business to promote the empire I have built. I have already told everything to the ‘superior’. Now, I have no intention of taking it to the attention of the superior.”

“Those who make conspiracies know that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s word is final. Some people are trying to grab the chair if I move aside. There will be no contest for only two seats in the state, one for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Pulivendula and the second for Chandrababu Naidu’s Kuppam. No one will ask for tickets for these two seats.”

“There will be many competitors for the rest of the seats. I am concentrating on restarting the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam mass interaction programme next week,” he added.
